Medlock Pharmacy is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to people with disabilities. We design and develop with accessibility in mind, audit periodically, and act on the feedback we receive. This statement describes the standards we target, what we've done to meet them, known limitations, and how to report a problem.
Conformance target
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
medlockrx.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the standard. The sections below describe what we have done, what we know is not yet ideal, and how to ask for help.
Steps we've taken
- Semantic HTML. Every page uses landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), a single H1, a logical heading hierarchy, and proper list and form markup so assistive technologies can navigate the page predictably.
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element is reachable and operable with a keyboard. We test tab order, focus traps in dialogs, and keyboard shortcuts in the menu and form components.
- Visible focus indicators. All focusable elements display a clear gold outline with a 2-pixel offset when focused, regardless of whether they were focused by mouse, keyboard, or assistive device.
- Color contrast. Body text exceeds 4.5:1 contrast against its background. Large display text and interactive elements exceed 3:1 minimums. Decorative gold accents are paired with non-color cues such as icons, spacing, or weight.
- Alt text and decorative images. Photographs and meaningful illustrations carry descriptive alt text. Decorative SVGs are marked
aria-hiddenso screen readers skip them. - Forms with proper labeling. Every form control has a programmatically associated label, fieldset legends group related radios, and validation errors are announced via
aria-invalidandaria-describedby. - Reduced motion respected. When a visitor sets their operating system to "reduce motion", our CSS collapses animations and transitions so motion-sensitive users aren't affected by decorative animations.
- Sufficient touch target size. Interactive buttons and links provide at least 44x44 pixels of touch area on mobile.
- Skip-to-content link. A keyboard-accessible skip link allows screen-reader and keyboard users to jump past the header navigation.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, the following limitations may currently affect accessibility on the site. We are working to address them.
- Third-party form embed. Our prescription transfer form, contact form, and free medication review form are rendered inside a third-party iframe (a HIPAA-compliant provider). The iframes' accessibility characteristics are governed by the provider, not by us. If you experience a barrier inside any form, please contact us using the information below and we will work with the provider on a resolution — or take your information by phone in the meantime.
- Embedded map. The Google Maps embed on our contact pagefollows Google's accessibility behavior. The address, phone number, and hours are also available as text on the same page so the map is not the only way to reach the information.
Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
The site is designed to be compatible with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack). It uses standard HTML5 features that may not be supported by older browsers or assistive technologies released before 2019.
